It’s a sunny morning and the best thing to do in Cologne is to go to the ‚Flora /Botanic Garden‘. Especially if you want to stay off the touristic places. You have different possibilities how to get there: car/ bus/ subway/ bike/ walk. To get the full address, just scroll down.
This place is amazing. Last month was my first time (finally) to visit this beautiful garden. You find a variety of plants. It is amazing which kind of flora they have at this place. Some I did not see before. Even some from New Zealand…
Another fun thing is the little garden which shows typical food plants from Germany. I got totally excited when I could find the targets which tell you the name in German as well as in the dialect of Cologne. Looking through the cards I would not have guessed most of the German names.
Sometimes I feel like a kid… I am sure most of you have seen this before… put your hand in the hole, touch and guess what is inside. So much fun. And if you need a break you can just take a seat somewhere in the garden or in the café and have something to drink.
Let me know how much you liked it… and what was your favorite thing/place etc? Mine was for sure the little garden and its German-Kölsch name tags.
UH… and have a look at the lake. They have some real turtles inside!
Cheers
Eva 🙂
